Why Responsible AI? Why Tech Ethics?

As someone who works for Google's Trust & Safety team, I’ve seen how AI and algorithms can change lives for better and worse. My job is to help shape policies and systems that protect people.

But honestly? This work isn’t just my career, it’s personal!

A few years ago, I came across a news story about AI being used to violate people’s lives (young children) in a really disturbing way. As a parent, it hit me hard. I realized tech isn’t just about cool features or convenience, it’s about real people with real lives. That moment lit a fire in me.

Now, I spend my days:

  • Teaching AI Ethics at Emory and Cal State, because the next generation needs to build tech with heart.

  • Speaking and writing about how to keep tech humane.

  • Spreading awareness thru talks, trainings and mentorship.

Today, I split my time between my day job developing policies to make internet a safe place and my passion project: teaching others about responsible AI.

I regularly write, podcast, and speak about Responsible AI.

I'm a visiting faculty member at both Emory University and California State University, where I teach Responsible AI and AI and change management for enterprise and leaders.

I recently earned masterclass certification in Ethics of AI from the London School of Economics. I have three Masters Degrees in - Instructional design, Environmental Science and Education.

What drives me?

It's simple: technology should make life better, not harder. I believe that we can build AI that's transparent, fair, and actually trustworthy but it takes intentional work from all of us.
